A Poppy in Nazareth

Solo it sways

A single poppy, in the breeze

The clouds have shielded the suns rays

And I stoop down with ease

Ah! Nazareth! How I admire thee!

Yet you rejected your long awaited Lord

Yet no peace, no tranquility

Despised and rejected, His blood was poured

Bright with crimson stain

I pluck the dear poppy from the ground

Reminded of the passion, the pain

Father’s design for the lost to be found
